Chinese Cultural Garden Restoration Project

【修復中華文化公園】為本基金會第一個重大專案，此專案由2024年3月開始進行，工作内容為與聖荷西市議員 Peter Ortiz 和聖荷西市政府公園管理局合作，將位於聖荷西市内的 Overfelt Park 裏的中華文化公園，重新整理多年的失修與無家流浪者的破壞，目的為重啓中華文化公園供一般民衆舉行活動，恢復1971年Frank and Pauline Lowe 初建公園時的盛況。

The first major project of the Foundation, which began in March 2024, involves collaborating with San Jose City Council District 5 Councilmember Peter Ortiz and the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services Department (PRNS) to revitalize the Chinese Culture Garden in Overfelt Park, San Jose. This initiative aims to address years of neglect and damage caused by homelessness, with the goal of restoring the garden to its original glory as created by Frank and Pauline Lowe in 1971. The restored garden will serve as a vibrant space for the community to hold activities and enjoy cultural events.

Chinese Cultural Garden Overview

中華文化公園是由中華民國政府於 1971年出資，並由 Mr. Frank Lowe 及夫人 Pauline Lowe 所籌劃建造的，占地6英畝，位於 San Jose 近市中心的 Overfelt Park 内，是一座公園中的公園，Lowe 先生心繫中華文化，特地將故鄉象徵性的建築，複製營造出來，讓聖荷西居民可以有機會了解中華文化，詳情請參考官網 Chinese Cultural Garden。

The Chinese Cultural Garden was initiated by Frank Lowe and his wife, Pauline Lowe, with generous contributions from the Republic of China in 1971. This beautiful garden covers an area of 6 acres and is located in Overfelt Park in San Jose, near the city center. Mr. Lowe has a deep appreciation for Chinese culture and sought to replicate the symbolic architecture of his hometown, allowing San Jose residents the opportunity to learn about and engage with Chinese culture.
